Classes

Guy runs small friendly classes  designed to accommodate the various levels, experience, and interests of our students.

Each lesson features a detailed painting demonstration working from a photographic reference.  Guy breaks this demonstration down into easy to follow stages that each student copies while he answers their questions. The small painting is normally finished by the end of the class.

All aspects of mastering watercolour are taught over time. These include composition, tone, colour mixing, brush techniques, and the many ways of working with the medium. Students are also invited to share paintings they may be working on outside of the class to enable them to receive valuable feedback and help.

All the paintings on this page were demonstrations done in classes.

My first rule of watercolour is… Don’t Panic!

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to hear more about my classes.

I want you to enjoy the classes and learn in a comfortable, sharing environment with the friendship of others who support your painting journey. Nobody is judging you! You will only develop with trial and error, just like everyone else.

The paintings below were all demonstrations done in a morning class and show the kind of subjects that I typically use for teaching. I keep drawing to a minimum and concentrate on the process from starting to finishing with all the elements needed to make a good painting.
